Larry Tillman, PhD, Professor Emeritus, retired from UTC in 2017 as a professor of physical and occupational therapy. Throughout his professional career, he taught medical and rehabilitation science students in areas of human anatomy, pathology, neuroscience, and rehabilitation. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters related to disease and wound healing.
Dr. Tillman became interested in the crude practice of medicine during the American Revolutionary War about 20 years ago. With encouragement from his friend Keith Bester, Larry joined the 2nd South Carolina infantry regiment out of Charleston, South Carolina as their regimental surgeon, giving living history demonstrations during reenactments at numerous battleground sites and national parks, to include Bordentown, NJ, Williamsburg, VA, Guilford Courthouse, NC, Cowpens and Middleton Place, SC, and St. Augustine, FL. Dr. Tillman has been a member of the SAR Jacksonville, FL chapter, along with his son Jeff and grandson Hunter. Their patriot is Samuel Webster from Connecticut.
