Description

This program is dedicated to the Black Businesses of McMinn County. Precious Brown is a Sociology and African and African American Studies major at Berea College. William Isom is the Director of Black in Appalachia: Research, Education, and Support, a non-profit that highlights the history and contributions of African-Americans in the development of the Mountain South and its culture. The two will present information on different businesses such as Mutts in Etowah, TN and Jean's Beauty Shop in Athens, TN. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about Black History in McMinn County and further support the Black community. $5 or free for members - if you register online, you will pay upon arrival, or may pay in person ahead of time.
